A day in the life of a HC Plumbing plumber

Lou, a qualified HC Plumbing plumber, standing beside his HC Plumbing van.

Oftentimes we have potential staff ask what a day in the life of a HC Plumbing plumber looks like.

Are you stuck on the same job sites for weeks on end?
Do you have limited variety in the work you undertake?
Are you fixing leaking taps and toilets only?

The short answers are: No, yes and definitely no…

We thought that the best way to give you a true idea of exactly what a day in the life of a HC Plumbing plumber looked like was to ask one of our plumbers, Lou, to take some photos of his day, and show us exactly what he did!

Meet Lou...

Lou originally hails from not so sunny England, and while he expected the weather in delightful Queensland to be markedly different from home, he has been somewhat surprised by the cold we can experience.

Lou generally works on our residential maintenance jobs, he travels about town in his trusty HCP van with a variety of different tasks to complete on any given day.

A day in the life of Lou can involve…

Lou, one of our plumbers, replacing / installing hydronic radiators and servicing a boiler system.
A spectacular view at Lou's mid morning job from the edge of the Toowoomba Range.
Lou, installing a new gas fireplace.
A water softening unit installed to a residential home.
Installing stormwater pits at a commercial job.

When I asked Lou what he loved most about his job, he said

“The professional structure of the company. From the really nice manager, and contracts manager, to the admin staff and plumbers out in the field, everyone has their own tasks to get on with. This allows the company to run very efficiently creating a professional atmosphere to work in. There is always someone to call if you need help and you never feel alone.

I also love the team spirit which is motivated by the monthly team  meetings and the frequent team activities. You are made to feel like you are an important part of this professional structure.”

As you can see, the work we do is diverse, you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with new technology, upskill, and learn from some pretty exceptional plumbers, whether they be Bede our director, Peter our ops manager or the likes of Lou.

We work on many exciting new build and renovation projects, often in multi-million dollar homes, with multiple bathrooms, multiple kitchens and extras like hydronic heating.

If you are hoping for a challenging, exciting and diverse role - HC Plumbing might just suit you!

If you were Lou’s mate, and you were thinking about applying for a job here, he’d say

This is one of the best companies I have worked for".
